About the Artist
Ana Maria Perez is a Cuban American artist who creates in mixed media. Most of Ana‘s artwork begins with mark making and acrylic paint, often high flow acrylics. There are often elements of collage or patterns, then all pieces are finished with several layers of high-quality oil paints.
Ana paints women of all colors, from all over the world. Ana has always been empowered by strong women of different cultures. Though her art, Ana strives to create a space where any woman can feel represented and strong and show up as they are.
“I want to empower all women to own their uniqueness and their strength. Women have so much to offer the world, and we are so often misunderstood or underestimated. People often mistake softness and vulnerability as weakness, they don’t know how wrong they are, but I’m here to show them.”
